Postpartum Doula Care

The postpartum time, whether it follows your fist birth or your fourth, is sacred. When the postpartum time is well supported and treated as a ceremony, the birthing person is free to celebrate the power of their body and spirit.

A nourishing postpartum sets up the whole family for success. I envision the postpartum as a time of deep rest and bonding with your new family configuration. I can support you during the postpartum time with abdominal massage and bodywork, plant baths and steams, nourishing teas and foods, deep listening, baby care, and facilitation of rituals that honor your postpartum traditions and the traditions of birth givers before you.

Imagine this: you are tucked into your bed, you new baby sleeping by your side. You receive some bodywork while resting. I hold space for you to share whatever is present. After the bodywork, I leave you two to nap and rest. I go to the kitchen to prepare some nourishing and warming foods, snacks, and teas. While I cook, I chat with your partner and check in about their needs, too. Then I play a game with your toddler and answer their questions about becoming an older sibling. When you wake from your nap, I draw you a bath filled with herbs— you soak while I hold the baby for you. When I leave, you feel cared for, rested, nourished, fed, and resilient.

This is postpartum doula care from the heart.
